Hospitality Design in a Covid-19 World

Cayas Architects is driven to assist the Hospitality Industry in every way possible both during the Covid-19 Pandemic, and in preparation for a different hospitality landscape following.

As venues of all kinds throughout Australia heroically adapt to the ever changing rules and restrictions in different jurisdictions, and work out how to keep both their loyal employees and patrons safe and looked after, we too in turn are here to help where we can. We have worked with the majority of our current and past clients to calculate floor areas, create patron area plans and look at new ways to arrange drinking, dining and EGM spaces for the implementation of Covid Safe Plans as required to operate. We have also reacted nimbly to assist with quick turnaround refurbishments during venue closures, and design advice and assistance with projects moving forward with a view to understanding what venue design will look like over the coming years.

Our Interior Design and Architecture teams have placed a high degree of importance on sourcing local materials and products for construction and fitout, to assist with delivering projects on time and also to support our fantastic local Australian suppliers and manufacturers. Where possible, anti-microbial and robust finishes are being specified on ‘patron contact’ surfaces to ensure ease of cleaning with the harsh disinfectants that are now frequently used.

As we begin to learn what the hospitality landscape will look like as we emerge from 2020 Cayas Architects will be at the forefront of the design response, by helping our valued clients find their feet again and power into the future.

All the best, and stay safe ~ The Cayas Architects Team.
